AVA advise that you only feed this AVA kibble to puppies from 6 weeks - 12 months olds. This product is not suitable for puppies under 4 weeks old. Please remember this is only a guide - individual metabolism, activity levels, age and environment should all be considered when calculating the daily amount to feed your puppy. The full AVA range includes specific life-stage and special functional products.
If you are new to AVA kibble or are transitioning from one life-stage to the next, it is advisable to introduce new food slowly over 4-7 days. AVA also recommend feeding this AVA kibble in 3 to 4 meals a day for the first 6 months. After 6 months divide the total into 2 meals a day. This will help balance the nutritional benefit of AVA formulations throughout the day, before and after most active times.
It is very important not to overfeed* or excessively give treats as both can have serious longer-term health consequences. AVA recommend that you weigh your puppy regularly to help manage their food intake and to spot any signs of weight change early on. It is important that fresh clean water is always available in a suitable drinking vessel appropriate to the size, life-stage and breed of dog. Puppies should be supervised at all times whilst feeding.
