It has been specially developed for adult dogs with chronic hepatic insufficiency. Hill’s Prescription Diet Canine l/d Liver Care Original reduces the amount of stress placed on the liver and maintains a normal fat metabolism in the liver. It also works to combat the nutritional deficiencies often associated with hepatic insufficiencies, with a reduced copper content.
Hill’s Prescription Diet Canine l/d Liver Care Original is rich in essential fatty acids, contains a medium amount of protein and has easy to digest carbohydrate, in order to provide dogs with a balanced content of essential nutrients. Hill's Prescription Diet offers a variety of clinically-proven, therapeutic pet foods which are used for the treatment of various medical conditions.

- Portosystemic shunt
- Wilsons disease (hereditary copper storage disease)

- Pregnant or nursing bitches
